It is totally matched and dated 1940. This has the ribbed bakelite handles which are in fine shape, and someone may have used it as a hammer at one point, as there are some dings, so please look closely. The bluing on the hilt is 98% intact. The scabbard has lost its original finish, but the steel has toned to a nice gray color. The blades back strap is dated 40. This bayonet
