L526 Fragment 5" high x 10Fishtail selenite on lucite. Fishtail selenite is made up of twin crystals of optical selenite that have grown together in the shape of angel wings or "fishtails." This crystalline form of selenite gypsum is comprised of striations that look like optical light fibers. Unusual in size, these specimens have been mined by hand in Mexico.
